What does 358 mesh mean?
A commonly referenced 358 pattern has nominal mesh spacing of 76.2 × 12.7 mm and wire around 4 mm. Treat this as industry context, not a confirmed HJ Fence specification. State whether a dimension means wire centre spacing or clear opening, specify the wire measurement before or after coating, and agree tolerances on the drawing. Product variants can differ.
Specify the system beyond the panel
Start with fence height, total length and a layout showing corners, changes in level and entrances. Then list panel width, mesh geometry, wire diameter and edge details. Posts need their section, wall thickness, length and spacing defined. Identify the fixing arrangement and how each panel attaches at corners and gate posts. Foundation or base-plate details must suit the actual installation.
What should a 358 fencing quotation include?

Is every anti-climb fence security certified?
No. A mesh name, dense opening or product photograph is not evidence of a tested rating. Where a tender requires a particular rating, identify the named standard and level, then check that documentation covers the proposed panels, posts, fixings and gates. A different component or installation can change what the evidence supports. ISO 9001 concerns quality management and does not itself establish a fence security rating.
Define coating and gate requirements early
Describe the site environment and required finish in the inquiry. A color alone does not define corrosion protection: agree the coating process and measurable acceptance requirements. For gates, record the clear opening separately from the overall gate width, mark pedestrian and vehicle access on the layout, and identify any access-control interface. This lets proposals be compared against the same boundary plan.
Prepare a comparable inquiry
Send the same drawing revision and component schedule to everyone quoting. Request a separate quantity and inclusion statement for panels, posts, fixings and gates. Ask what is excluded, which documents will be supplied, how inspection will work, and what packing and delivery terms apply. Mark undecided dimensions as open questions instead of accepting an undocumented assumption.
